“Jaan he toh Jahan he.”
The COVID-19 pandemic is an unexpected event in today’s times that will require the best of humanity and nature to overcome. This fight against corona is a fight between ‘Life and Death’, and we need to fight this together.
India is facing a complete lockdown of 49 days to contain the spread of the COVID-19. Most of us are following the rules of the lockdown by sitting at home. Most of us have the luxury of having food reserves, electricity, clean water supply, and essential toiletries like soaps and sanitizers at our disposal. We must consider ourselves lucky to be blessed with this luxury.
But…
What about the homeless on the street?
What about the ones living in remote slums?
What about those stray dogs dying on the street?
What about the cattle who are wandering for fodder?
Are they blessed with this luxury?
This crisis threatens everyone’s way of life, but it is especially difficult for people who are already vulnerable, including homeless people those who are left with no options to fill their stomach and they are painfully suffering from hunger and they are also left unaware from the precautions to be taken from the Corona Virus.
Not only people but, a large number of homeless street cattle especially cows, buffaloes, and dogs are also being affected due to this crisis. In times of such calamities Sakthi Educational Foundation under the leadership of Nalanda Mother Teresa Anath Sewa Ashram, Bihar has always been at the forefront to carry out rescue and rehabilitation operations in times of natural disasters, whether it be the 2019 Kolhapur floods, earthquake in Nepal, Kerala floods of 2018 or COVID-19 this time.
Nagapattinam’s relief activities are especially being carried out in the severely affected areas in the Kolhapur District of Maharashtra.
